Confidence Building Lessons
with Jenny Paterson

We start right at the beginning and work through. Two consecutive lessons are essential so you get the benefit of repetition needed when learning new skills.

Each lesson begins on the ground and then we move on to riding

You will learn how to teach your horse to
  • 'follow a feel' on the lead-rope
  • have impeccable manners
  • sidle up to the mounting block/fender and stand like a rock to be mounted
  • perform exercises which will help your horse load and unload from the horse-float happily and safely
You will learn what to do when your horse
  • gets excited or feels unsafe
  • is either too sensitive or too dull
  • won't do what you would like him to do when you would like him to do it
  • isn't the best in the company of other horses
  • You will learn how to teach your horse
  • the meaning of your legs for 'go' and for moving laterally
  • to negotiate obstacles of all sorts
  • to be safe to ride out on the trail
